How can I get my 6 week old to fall asleep on her own...?

This is a follow up to another question I asked earlier... I have a 6 week old baby girl that will only sleep if myself or her father are holding her or if she is in her swing. I'm looking for some tips on getting her to fall asleep on her own. If I lay her down alone in her crib or binet she just kinda hangs out in there for a while and then starts fussing. Is there anything I can do to help her get to sleep without being held or swinging in her swing? I have a mobile on her crib, I swaddle her, give her a pacifier, even have one of those sound machines that has plays a recording of a heartbeat. And I still can't get her to doze off! Any advice? Be nice please! I got some rude comments before because I mentioned I let her sleep on my chest at night otherwise we would never get more than a hour of sleep at a time! I'm a first time mom!

Will closing off air vents that are not desired cause more air to come through the ones that are open?

Yes you can do this. But depending on the size of your vents, you can decrease the airflow through the AC unit and may cause freezing of the coils and/or overheating. If I were you, I wouldnt duct tape the vents closed though. I would spend a few bucks and get installable vents with shutters on them to open/close the individual vents. If you ever wanted to take the duct tape off, it would leave glue on everything and would just look terrible.

The nice thing about the way Linux is set up is that it doesn't matter. If you download and install Ubuntu, you can just open up Synaptic and install the ubuntustudio package (or the kubuntu package or the xubuntu package) and it will download all the files that are different between the environments. Which in the case of Ubuntu Studio is just going to be a bunch of audio and video editing programs.

I'm currently coming to the end of my freshman year at a community college. I only have another year before I'm supposed to transfer to get a bachelor's but I can't afford to continue because universities are so expensive. I don't qualify for financial aid because my parents make too much, but we are living paycheck to paycheck and my mother can barely afford to keep up with the $3000/year CC bill. I do have a pretty high GPA, but most universities don't give out good merit aid for transfer students. I can't take out a private student loan because I don't have a co-signer with good credit, and the federal government loans can only cover so much. How to introduce a over protect dog to a new dog?

From what I understand, you want to introduce the two dogs in a place that is neutral to both of them. For example you wouldn't want to introduce them at your house because your dog probably feels protective over his (and your :) ) home. Other than that I'm not really sure how you would introduce them, like how to handle them and such. I would think you shouldn't be holding your german shepherd because he would be more protective than if someone else was holding him and he might feel threatened if you are holding another dog. Whether or not to have one or both of them on or off a leash I don't know but it's definetly something to consider. A 4 year old preschooler has a great vocabulary, but he continually says "hear" for ear, "hask" for ask, "hegg" for egg, etc. Has anyone here had experience with this in preschoolers and how did you solve this impediment if you did? Take out the Dark Creator (slows the deck down, dead draw if top-decked), Gorz (Not worth running, since Blackwings go for speed, not protection if they fail, since almost all of the time you don't fail if you run the deck right. Plus, you have DAD in case you run in to trouble, so Gorz isn't needed.) Also, take out Elphin. Its effect is too slow and doesn't help the deck much. Plus, if your looking to synchro Vayu + Elphin = Armor Master, just use Vayu + Armed Wing = Armor Master instead. Also, take out Cold Wave, Dark Eruption, Lightning Vortex, and Mind Control (they're all not needed, and they open up room for better cards). Also, take out Delta Crow for Starlight Road (Since I took out Gorz and Dark Creator, this will be the main way you protect against failing against cards like Heavy Storm, Torrential Tribute, and Mirror Force. Plus, who doesn't like a free Stardust? Delta Crow should go since it's not needed that much, and it's slow. Plus, you already run Heavy and MST, so you'll probably end up drawing two of those three at once a lot, and then one of them will be useless.). Also, put in another Icarus Attack (3 is just amazing, I'm surprised it's not semi-limited at least), another Book of Moon (it's useless to run 1 since you'll never draw it, so run 2), 2 of Dark Grepher (getting Vayu to the grave), 1 Burial from a Different Dimension (recycling Vayu), and 1 Foolish Burial (getting Vayu to the grave). Also, take out a Sirocco and a Giant Trunade for 2 Royal Oppressions. With the Vayu-Oppression combo, you have to run it. I took out Giant Trunade since it's not needed and you need space to fit Oppressions, and I took out Sirocco since 3 will just give you dead draws. Plus, you only need 2 with 2 Vayus. Then, it'll still be 40 cards exactly. For synchros, make sure you get 3 Armor Masters, 3 Armed Wings, 1-2 Silverwinds (Vayu + Armor Master = Silverwind), Brionac, Catastor, and 2 Stardusts. The rest of the synchros are up to you. I hope this helps!

I wouldn't start out with a wire brush as it may leave an undesirable finish on the brick. I would start with a very sturdy plastic bristle brush and some water with a little dish soap to see if it removes the dirt or soot or watever. But if that doesn't work move on to masonry stripper, only if there is paint or heavy residue from grease or something. otherwise bricks will get pretty clean just from scrubbing with soapy water

Rat bit my snake during feeding?

I have a 4' Ball python that I fed today. She feeds of off medium rats AND WILL ONLY EAT LIVE PREY (so please don't tell me to feed frozen or something to that effect). She's VERY quick eater. I watch the whole time, and never left the room. However, right after she snapped at the rat and balled up, it appeared as though she got a hold of the rat's feet leaving plenty of room for the rat to bite. I saw a quick gush of blood and realized the rat was gnawing at my snake. I have a pear of long tongs I keep by just encase this ever happened (which is never has til now) but even though I separated the rats teeth from my snake the damage was already done. it stopped bleeding quickly, and I can't seem to find the wound under her scales. there is no vet open near me at this time, and the emergency animal hospital wont treat snakes. My question is, what should I do to help my snake until I can get her an appointment with her regular vet in the mean time? I heard cleaning with iodine and applying neosporin should help. Should I wrap it to keep infection out? and how often should I apply it? I'm very worried for her as this is the fist time she ever had this happen, she's always been extremely healthy! So I started researching on my own what it could have been, and i think it may have been ovulation mucous. But since I don't have regular cycles and I've never noticed anything like this before I don't know for sure. On 7 Jul I woke up nauseas and have been that way daily 'til now. No tenderness. Lots of fatigue and dizziness. HPT is negative...

And the date won't be given to you till 5-8 weeks have ped and by that time your court date would be here. The short answer has to do with the science of heat physics. No matter how much of the sun's energy falls on the earth, the same amount has to be radiated away or heat will build up. That's why people sweat and that's why there's a radiator on your car. If you build up a significant greenhouse barrier the amount of heat escaping into out space decreases. Of course you want some heat to be retained or at night the earth surface would plunge into the below zero area...not good. On the flip side you want a good deal of the heat radiated away or you'll burn up...also not good. Currently not as much heat is getting through the CO2, methane and water vapor that's built up in our paper thin atmosphere because of burning fossil fuels so the stratosphere up there above the cirrus clouds is cooling off...probably not good. The deniers of course have probably never parked their car in the sun with the windows rolled up...a fairly good og for the greenhouse effect. It gets really hot in a car parked in the sun with the windows rolled up. Set 'yer tushy down on that black upholstery and the concept of 'global warming' will give you a darn good object lesson. Some deniers say the sun is getting 'hotter'...so what? The heat has to be radiated away regardless of how much incoming energy has to be dealt with. Others say it's volcanoes....that's a crock. Volcanoes put out carbon 12 and carbon 13. Burning fossil fuels produce carbon 14, a radioactive element that all living things absorb. When these living things decay or get burned, like coal and oil, the carbon 14 is released...that's how we know what percent of the atmosphere comes from burning stuff...and it's a lot and it's not a good thing. I could go on, but the deniers will just come back with some bull #$%^ about Al Gore or what some right wing radio dummy said. "Ya gotta' love these guys!

Haha I wonder the same thing about girls, if they're as clean as me and all. I don't see the green from the comforter in the curtains. The curtains have a different olive-green. I wouldn't put them together. If you kept the curtains, I would go with dark brown comforter & bright color pillows to pull the colors out of the curtains. If you keep the comforter, you could still do a print on the curtains. Or go with a completely different color curtains (solid turquioise, solid dark brown) and find coordinating pillows.

my first tattoo was on my lower back and obviously at first i didn't know what to expect. my first impression as he did the first line was like being cut very slowly with a er knife. tattoos are a pain like no other and at first i remember thinking it hurt alot but after just a few mins it began to dull and i thought, hey this isnt too bad. it just turns into an annoying feeling from the vibration of the gun. mine only took about 20-30 mins so it wasn't very long and overall it was totally worth it, as im sure yours will be as well. just take someone along with you to keep your mind off of it. as i said, it hurts at first but then it goes away and it really isnt that bad. oh and everyone says on the spine hurts more but for me the outter part by the lovehandles hurt more. and shading is definitely easier than outline.

I am 16 years old and have been running for about three years. I was doing around 2-4 miles every other day until last year when I began running 5-10 miles every couple days and spinning 3-5 times a week. I am 5'6" and used to weigh 111 lbs. My BFP was 11.43%. In the year since I began running farther I have gained over 10 pounds and my BFP is now 16.32%. I have always been an extremely healthy eater and that has not changed. In Fact when I look in the mirror I feel I am thinner. People ask me if I have lost weight and when I tell them I have gained 10 lbs they are shocked. The only place I really do see a difference is in my quads, they both look as though they have doubled in size. I am pretty sure it is all muscle but sometimes the scale number and 5% fat gain freaks me out and I feel like I need to lose it fast. I just wanted some other opinions.
