Cooking cabbage, need help!?

I am planing to cook cabbage in the crock pot (slow cooker) for dinner tonight, I wanted to know how I should do this? I want to put some kind of meat in like some sort of pork. I also plan to put some onion in too. Can anyone tell me what would be best to do in cooking in andpreparingf it? I plan to eat it about 8:30tonighte, but will not get it started until about 12:00 will that be enough time for it to cook?
